Ye Banks and Braes O' Bonnie Doon
Also known as The Caledonian Hunt's Delight
Traditional Scottish tune used by Robert Burns, Arranged for Saxophone Quartet (SATB) by Hugh Levey
This lovely melody was made famous by Robert Burns when he used it for his poem, Ye Banks and Braes o' Bonnie Doon in 1791. The original tune is called The Caledonian Hunt's Delight. This beautiful and sympathetic arrangement for clarinet quartet is ideal for concerts, weddings, and many other types of performance. The opening is a flute solo accompanied by lush chords from the rest of the quintet. The middle section passes the tune from instrument to instrument, before returning to a slightly amended version of the opening section.
