Scaramouche - Galop Brillant - was written in 1893 by Franz Behr under one of his composing pseudonym's Charles Godard. It was originally a lively piano duet, but has been arranged here as a great fun and challenging piece for Wind Quintet, which makes a great concert opener or encore piece.
Indeed the arranger's own wind quintet has played it hundreds of times as an encore and is enjoyed by players and audiences alike. This work is also available as a Clarinet Quartet.
